Hello coily and curly girlies, it has been a minute since we had a hair care update over here. Our last update was on my big chop, and if you missed check out on this blog. My hair is currently growing at a faster rate than I expected to. Am I complaining? Probably, because I hoped to wear my hair shorter for a longer period, it now seems like I will need a couple of cuts or just embrace growing my hair long again.

Currently, the plain is to let it grow since I can now rock some cute, short but not so short medium size and mini twists. I have worn the twists twice so far and I loved them, took less than an hour to install which was impressive coming from hours of twisting and some days I would install twists for two days because my hands would give up. Planning on installing mini twists and hoping with the new growth, they won’t take me more than an hour to install.

New here? Well, this is how my natural hair twists looked like, well my favorite twists. Mini twists and medium sized twists have always been my go to protective style. A couple of years ago I did a mini twists length retention challenge and that went amazingly well, loved the length retention. If you are looking for an easy DIY protective style that is chic, gives you styling options and keeps your hair flourishing, I highly recommend two strand twists. They have held me down for years.

Natural Hair Update: Routine, Styling and Everything in Between.

My Current Hair Care Routine.

My hair routine has changed much other than moisturizing more frequent than I used to since I’mwearing my hair out like always and the temperatures out here can get alittle crazy. I’m not sure how frequent I moisturize it, I do moisturize as usual when my hair feels dry and it needs some love. Currently using a hair mist from risha naturals to refresh between wash days and my DIY rosemary infused oil as a sealant. And on days when the hair needs more moisture, I use Risha naturals leave in conditioner.

My wash days is every 2-4 weeks depending on how much outdoorsy have been, presence of product buildup and if I’m feeling or rather got the motivation and strength to have a full wash day. For ccleansing I’m currently usinf Geisha shea butter bar soap and deep condition with Risha deep conditioner. I highly recommend their products. Did I mention that they have ayurveda herbs in their ingredients? Well, they do and it’s all the good stuff.

In Conclusion.

Currently loving my hair at this length though I haven’t been taking as much pictures of it as I had planned to. The goal was to document each and every step of the new hair length but here we are. All that matters is it’s still flourishing and I’m loving it especially the volume, there’s lots of hair up there and no I’m not complaining.
